SMM December 27: According to the survey, from December 21 to December 27, 2024, the weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises in five provinces monitored by SMM was 74.71%, down 0.65 percentage points WoW.

According to the survey, by month-end December, the end-use consumption in the lead-acid battery market showed mediocre performance, with dealers primarily focusing on digesting inventory, and enterprise orders generally declining. This was mainly due to the price increase notification for batteries issued by electric bicycle battery enterprises at the beginning of December, prompting dealers to rush to buy amid continuous price rise and stock up. Additionally, the battery agency volume for 2025 between dealers and producers has not yet been fully determined. During the year-end period, most lead-acid battery enterprises were engaged in year-end closing and inventory checks, with some even suspending lead ingot purchases. A few large enterprises also took 1-3 days off for inventory checks and holidays, leading to a slight decline in the weekly operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises. Next week, as the year transitions, there may still be constraints on production and procurement for some enterprises..
